LEARNING HOW TO PLAY THE PIANO IS FUN !
There are (3) distinct approaches you can take with your lessons. It is recommended that they are integrated so you can learn the language of music
in a dynamic way.
CLASSICAL, PIANO BAR and PLEASURE PLAYING
#1 CLASSICAL - Students learn the “language” of music. We study the traditional way; using standard piano prep, solo and theory books. This involves note reading, chord building, theory and ear training.
#2 PIANO BAR - Many of you LOVE to SING. You can learn how to play chords, improvisation with melody, rhythm and the theory that goes with key signatures and scales.
#3 PLEASURE - Are you are senior? Maybe you don't care to “dig in” to the foundations of theory. Then play for fun! Play your favorite songs!
SOME REASONS WHY YOU WANT TO LEARN
- You have spent your early years getting an education and working in your profession. Now you are older and have more time to do the things you have dreamed about.
- Sometimes, mom wishes she’d “stuck with it”, and want their young children to have the experience of piano lessons.
- Sometimes, a teen wants to get a higher, music education for the pursuit of a music career at college level or simply be a piano player "in the band"!
NOTE: Many piano students like to “cross over”, and start up guitar and /or voice. Students who learn how to play more than one instrument can develop into accomplished musicians. This turns into an exciting, lifelong love affair with music.
